Motorsport guru Bob McMurray talked to The Country Early Edition's Dom George about the life and times of his good friend, Kiwi Formula 1 legend Chris Amon.

"Not bad for a farm boy from Bulls"; that was how Chris Amon MBE assessed his own motorsport career. Indeed he learned to drive at the age of 6 on his parents sheep farm, taught by a farm worker on the Bulls property.

Amon went on to race Formula in the 1960s and 70s, when it was one the most deadly sports on the planet. In 96 starts he had 11 podiums and is often described as the best driver to never win a Grand Prix.

McMurray regales stories of the man and his place in the pantheon of world motorsport.
