A strain of the kiwifruit disease PSA has turned up in Australia. Photo / Bay of Plenty Times

A strain of the kiwifruit disease PSA has turned up in Australia.

Roughly one in eight New Zealand orchards are affected by the disease, but officials across the Tasman say it's having no detectable impact there.

They say the strain which has emerged in Australian orchards is less aggressive than the one here.
