The warm, dry weather that has farmers and rural fire fighters nervous, is proving some comfort for kiwifruit growers.

For the second week in a row the weather has seen no new Psa-V identifications reported.

Seven laboratory test results that were submitted to Kiwifruit Vine Health this week all came back as not detected.

Since being discovered on an orchard in Te Puke in late 2010, wet weather has been shown to increase the spread of the vine killing disease.

69 per cent of New Zealand's kiwifruit hectares are on an orchard with Psa-V identified, 52 per cent of them in Te Puke.
