Rotorua school Kapa Haka groups have been impressing judges at the Secondary Schools National Kapa Haka Championships in Gisborne.

Rotorua Boys' High School and Rotorua Girls' High School group Te Ropu Raukura, and Te Kura Kaupapa collective group Nga KKM o Te Puku o Te Ika a Maui, have made it to the finals held today.

The Te Kura Kaupapa collective group performed at 10.20am today, followed by Rotorua Boys' and Rotorua Girls' High School group who took the stage at 11am.

Western Heights High School, Rotorua Lakes High School and Te Kura o Rongomai also took part in the competition.

The championships started on Tuesday, this week.
