The Apiata cousins came armed with posters to meet motor racing star Greg Murphy at Ignition Motor Group's new Whanganui premises.

Pheenyx (11), Mia (8), Zaedhyn (8), Safiere (5) and Rylee (4) joined the queue of adults and other children, clutching their car posters for Murphy to autograph.

The girls said they were not huge car fans but Pheenyx had car posters on his bedroom wall and they were all excited to meet Murphy.

Murphy was in Whanganui for an opening function at Ignition Motor Group's premises which has relocated to the corner of St Hill and Dublin streets.

"I've already been overseeing things here for a while so it's good to be here to support the business," Murphy said, referring to a picture of himself in an upstairs window overlooking the showroom of the new building.
