Anchor tenant PricewaterhouseCoopers has taken naming rights on the central city development on the corner of Ward and Anglesea Sts, Hamilton.
Originally tagged Citygate, the new building will be known as the PwC Centre. It is the first office building in the Hamilton CBD for several years and will transform a site vacant for 17 years.
PwC Waikato office managing partner Roger Wilson says PwC is proud to be reinforcing its commitment to the region by signing up to the landmark, four-star green-rated build.
"Waikato and Hamilton are undergoing a boom, while nationally, the economy has long been spluttering. With a new port, roads, jobs, a rejuvenating town centre with upgraded malls, shops and eateries, it's one of New Zealand's fastest growing cities.
"The build is an important component in the revitalisation of Hamilton city centre. We're thrilled to be part of a development that's been billed to serve as a gateway to the heart of the city centre," says Mr Wilson.
