If you've been thinking of hosting an international student, head down to the Rotorua Women's Lifestyle Expo this weekend to find out more about exchange programmes for your family.
The expo is one of the city's largest and this year it will feature up to 100 exhibitors and offer everything from dance classes to fashion, wine and food.
There will be a large focus on shopping this year with sites selling natural skin care, designer clothing and jewellery.
Expo organiser Renee Murray said this year's expo would see a bigger focus put on shopping and fashion.
"There'll be a few new exhibitions and more to buy," she said.
The Education First Foundation is one exhibitor to set up shop for the two-day expo.
The non-profit organisation will be explaining its international student exchange programme in a bid to encourage people to become host families to overseas students.
Regional co-ordinator Jacqui Hesketh said the organisation was constantly on the lookout for new host families.
"We always want to find genuine people who want to do it for the cultural experience," she said.
Mrs Hesketh hoped the expo stall would encourage locals to become host families.
Students Daniel Rudolph, Chisato Shibuya, Philipp Hartung and Deniz Ozdemir are nearly at the end of their 12-month stay and say they have enjoyed their Kiwi experiences.
Deniz, who is from Konstanz, Germany, has been attending Rotorua Girls' High School.
The 17-year-old said she loved everything about New Zealand and would be sad to leave.
"As soon as I get home I'll start saving to come back."
She said she had made good friends and she was close with her host family.
"I've enjoyed all the Kiwi experiences."
Daniel, who is from Denmark, has been attending Western Heights High School and said he would miss his friends and host family when he left.
He said his favourite Kiwi experience had been learning how to surf.
"I'll miss surfing, there's not really anywhere to surf in Denmark."
Philipp, from Germany, attended John Paul College and enjoyed coaching the school's junior soccer teams.
Japanese student Chisato Shibuya, 18, attended Rotorua Lakes High School for her 12 months.
She said it had been a good experience and she had made some good friends.
