A Ngongotaha Lotto retailer hopes the winner of a second division lottery ticket sold there is local.
The punter is one of 17 players who won $17,220 each in Saturday's Second Division after buying a ticket at Ngongotaha Books Lotto Postshop & Kiwi Bank. However, the Ngongotaha ticket holder super-sized
their prize by also having the winning Powerball number, adding a $41,795 Powerball Second Division prize to their loot and bringing their total prize to $59,015.
Shop assistant manager Usha Singh said all staff at the Ngongotaha store hoped the winnings went to a local resident.
She couldn't say how many tickets they had sold for last Saturday's draw but said the shop was busy. It was exciting to have sold a winning ticket, she said.
The other winning tickets were sold in Auckland, Te Aroha, Hamilton, Te Kuiti, Napier, Hastings, Waverley, Feilding, Wellington, Blenheim, Westport and Timaru.
