Rotorua youth are being offered a local information and discount card.
Rotorua District Youth Council is distributing the 2012 Youth Card, for 11 to 18-year-olds, to schools and youth organisations.
Council youth projects officer Jill Campbell said the card identified places for young people to chill out, provided contact
details for legal, health, counselling, employment, training, and transport services and featured discounts at local outlets.
"Our young people are much safer when they're connected to the community so having this information at their fingertips by way of a funky little wallet-sized card, helps keeps them in touch with what our city has to offer," she said.
"To ensure young people keep the card handy when they're in town, sponsors have provided great discounts, so if they go for a swim, watch a movie, or eat pizza at certain locations they'll be able to get a great deal."
