He may not buy Lotto tickets, but Rotorua financial adviser Tom Davies knows exactly what he would do if he won.
Tonight's Big Wednesday draw is the biggest since it started in October 2005.
Up for grabs is $15 million plus two cars, a boat, money for a bach and travel.
Mr Davies,
the director of Rotorua's ABN AMRO Craigs, said he would invest the money - but wouldn't put it in the bank.
He said he would consider all investment options.
"If you put the whole lot away, you could easily get $750,000 in interest a year. That is more than enough."
He said that unless someone led an "incredibly lavish lifestyle" they wouldn't need that amount of money.
"You have got to be sensible about this," he said. "I would recommend that if someone won, they should sit down with their lawyer, accountant and financial advisor."
He said there was no urgency in deciding what to do with the money.
"It has got to be something that suits their lifestyle."
Mr Davies said he would use the money to secure his family's future and to help the community.
He is a member on the Geyser Foundation and the Kaharoa Kokako Trust.
"I could really help those organisations or other Rotorua trusts that needed help," he said.
"You could make a real difference in the community."
New Zealand Lotteries senior communications adviser Kate Richards said there had been no first or second division Big Wednesday prizes won in Rotorua.
"There was a Second Chance Draw prize won there in December 2005, where a ticket sold at Rotorua Paper Plus won $25,00.
"Another $1.3 million in prizes has been won in Rotorua in the smaller divisions."
She said it wasn't as popular as Saturday's Lotto draw.
"It is not as mainstream as Lotto but it does have a loyal following."
