Staff at Napier's Ocean Spa had to close the main pool on Saturday morning after a Friday night boy-racer burn-out session in a neighbouring street left three large plate glass window walls smashed.
It was not the first time staff had arrived at the Marine Parade complex to find evidence youths had had a night out at their expense, manager Ian Clayton said.
Beer bottles and cans had been found in the area after youths had climbed on to cars and scaled the high walls to have poolside parties.
But last Friday night the party turned destructive after a car doing "donuts" apparently went out of control and struck the wall on the seaward side - smashing two solid wooden supports and breaking three windows.
Repairs would probably cost $2500, Mr Clayton said.
"But we also had to turn about 50 people away because we had to vacuum out the pool."
Staff had found pieces of glass in the main pool and spent until noon on the clean-up.
"Bozos," was his summation of those responsible.
"It is just so unecessary."
Police received a description of a vehicle seen in the area.
