Christmas Day was made even more special for young parents Justin and Charlotte Bray, of Porangahau, as they celebrated the birth of their baby boy Edward.
Mr Bray said he and his wife liked the name Edward while his newborn son's middle name, Michael, was after his wife's father.
He added both sets of grandparents and some uncles and aunties were at Hawke's Bay Hospital for the birth.
"I'll never forget this birthday that's for sure," he said.
He said baby Edward was in good spirits while wife Charlotte is a little sleep deprived.
