League: Grand finalists found

A hat-trick to Taupo's Kane Minhinnick was not enough to stop the Pacific Sharks from advancing to another Bay of Plenty District premier final.

Pacific defeated Taupo 24-22 today at Puketawhero Park in Rotorua.

The preliminary final came right down to the wire today. Pacific took the lead with 10 minutes to go before holding on to win.

Taupo's huge forward pack caused Pacific plenty of problems but the Tokoroa side simply refused to go away.

Pacific will now play Pikiao in the grand final next weekend at the same venue in Rotorua.

In the reserve grade, Reporoa defeated Pikiao Seniors 26-14 today to progress to the reserve grade final. Led by WaiCoa Bay Stallion Phil Rameka, Reporoa will challenge Pacific reserves next weekend in the final.
