"Forecasting for those first six days are okay, but going further than that can be changeable," Ms Murdoch said.
"Christmas is a little too early to pin anything down, so it's a bit of a mixed bag really."
The rain on the weekend dampened and in some some cases stopped weekend festivities.
The Ride to Recycle yesterday was postponed due to heavy rain, organiser Marcello Ojerio said.
"From a safety standpoint, council couldn't do it. It was too wet and too cold, and if you have kids on bikes; people can get sick.
"So I [contacted] those who had confirmed they were coming and went to Burger Fuel, where we were supposed to be meeting, and waited for people to turn up who might've missed the news," he said.
Rain was also a factor in a lower than expected turn out for the Reporoa Tractor Pull and Community Day, organiser Nicole Maandonks said.
"Hopefully we get fine weather next year, but it was still a good turn out with farmers coming out to celebrate the rain," she said.
Soundshell Market organiser Gordon Davies said there were no outside stalls because of the rain.
"We had the inside stalls going, it was one of our biggest days, but the rain was quite steady so it did knock us around.
"We still had people down there but just didn't get the turnout," Mr Davies said.
