A 35-year-old Te Kuiti woman has died today as a result of a single vehicle collision on Sate Highway 41 near the intersection with Sate Highway 32.
The vehicle was travelling east when the driver lost control on an easy to moderate left hand bend.
The vehicle collided with an
armco barrier on the opposite side of the road then slid a further 140m before colliding with a tree and coming to rest in some bush on the left side of the highway.
The driver was killed instantly.
A 6-year-old passenger who was assisted from the vehicle received only minor injuries.
