Leonie Gardiner and Jinny McMahon have read the books, followed the movies, are in love with the characters and they will be among the first in Rotorua to see the first part of the final Twilight movie.

The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 is the first of the two-part final instalment in the popular The Twilight Saga series starring Kristen Stewart (Bella), Robert Pattinson (Edward) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob). Twilight is a young adult vampire romance movie based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer, which took US$384 million ($555 million) at box offices worldwide in 2008.

The film is released in New Zealand on November 17 with a midnight screening at Rotorua's Reading Cinemas.

Mrs Gardiner and Mrs McMahon already have their tickets to the midnight screening and will be going with a group of about eight friends and family members.

She said they say they had seen the movies and read the books over-and-over and it was after reading the books she and her friends decided they would go to every movie.

Because of the popularity of the series, the latest flick will be screened in up to three Rotorua cinemas at midnight on November 17.

Mrs Gardiner wanted to go to the midnight screening of the movie in order to be one of the first to see it.

"I don't like being told the story, I like to see it first. I don't like to hear it from other people who have seen it before me."

Mrs Gardiner, who is a self-confessed romantic, said she wasn't really a fan of mythical movies about vampires and werewolves but she loved the romance storyline of the Twilight movies.

She said most of those she was going with were huge Twilight fans and while most were Jacob supporters, she was undecided who she was more a fan of - Edward or Jacob.

Reading Cinemas Rotorua complex manager Adam Morrison said they had already sold out one cinema and were about to sell-out the second cinema. He said if the demand was there, they would have a third cinema screening the movie at midnight. "Each cinema caters for between 100 and 130 people," Mr Morrison said.
