Two of the world's most famous supermodels are heading for Rotorua to film a segment for the latest series of America's Next Top Model.
The show's host and former supermodel Tyra Banks, along with celebrity fashion designer and supermodel Kimora Lee Simmons, landed in New Zealand this week.
Filming in Rotorua and
New Zealand has been labelled a massive coup by tourism leaders.
While it's known that part of the show will be shot in Rotorua, exactly when and where remains a mystery. Other film locations include Auckland and Queenstown.
The hugely popular America's Next Top Model airs to four million viewers a week in the United States, is syndicated to 121 countries and is the number one show on The CW Network in the United States.
Banks confirmed on social networking website Twitter this week that several episodes of the next season of America's Next Top Model will be filmed in New Zealand.
"Rumours are true & U R 1st to know. Top Model is goin to NEW ZEALAND for cycle 14! Can't wait to get there. Are y'all excited for next cycle?" Banks' Twitter account stated. Her next post 33 minutes later said: "To be clear - we're going to New Zealand for AMERICA'S Next Top Model, Cycle 14. Every cycle we go to another country for a few challenges".
Simmons is the fashion designer of clothing label Baby Phat and has her own reality show on entertainment channel E! called Life In The Fab Lane.
Destination Rotorua Tourism Marketing general manager Don Gunn did not know many details but confirmed the group was coming to the city as part of its New Zealand trip.
Mr Gunn said details of the trip to Rotorua were being kept confidential.
Tourism Bay of Plenty general manager Tim Burgess also confirmed the American reality show was coming here. Attempts to contact Banks' production company Bankable Productions yesterday were unsuccessful.
Mr Gunn said he hoped the crew would be staying in Rotorua during filming and believed there would be huge benefits for the city.
"I think the impact of America's Next Top Model will be really good for us because it's such a widely viewed programme," he said.
If the show utilised Rotorua's geothermal activity and greenery, he expected people to visit after seeing the city on television.

Fashion blogger Isaac Hindin Miller has reported on his website, isaaclikes.com, that he had been in touch with a source working on the show.
In his blog, he says the final three episodes of the show will be shot in New Zealand. He said Banks was due to fly to New Zealand this week and would be joined by new judge, American Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley, and Simmons, who would appear as a guest judge.
Hindin Miller said filming would begin today or tomorrow.
He said on his blog there was a $5 million confidentiality clause surrounding details of the show.
Tourism New Zealand spokeswoman Cas Carter said Tourism New Zealand's international media and public relations team and Air New Zealand had worked with the show to find locations and home-grown designers. "Getting America's Next Top Model to film here is a coup for New Zealand and Tourism New Zealand is always looking for ways to work with high profile shows when we know that New Zealand, our culture, scenery and people will play a major role in the finished product," she said. Banks became the first African-American on the covers of GQ and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
