Rotorua's Linda Perrson is baffled by the cheek of a mystery man who left his dirty laundry and some soap in her back yard. Mrs Perrson discovered that an early morning noise turned out to be a chore left for her by an unidentified man. The man had left some soap sachetsand had laid out his dirty laundry. She assumed he'd left them to be cleaned. While she wasn't quite sure what to make of the whole situation she said she did end up washing the items. "Well there were soap satchets there and it was dirty - why wouldn't you?" she said. She said it all started when she heard a noise about 5.30am on Saturday and got out of bed to investigate. She saw a man, in his 50s, shut the front gate and walk away carrying an empty bucket and a long pair of tongs. Mrs Perrson said she saw a lot of nightlife activity in her area but was mesmerised as she watched this man. "It was all a bit weird and I just watched him from the bedroom window and did not consider approaching him or phoning the police," she said. When she went outside she found items which she could only assume were left by the man. Those items included a tea towel, a white sheet, a pair of track pants and a polo shirt. Mrs Perrson said she thought the man might have gone to the wrong house. She also said the initials SF were printed on the sheet which could provide a "clue" to the man's identity. While Mrs Pearson said she awaited the next night's activities, the culprit did not return to claim his clean laundry. "I wouldn't mind if he came back to collect it," she said. "They're not mine and I'd really like to get them back to him." Mrs Perrson also discovered two of her largest pumpkins where missing from her front garden. However, she said she was not sure if the two incidents were connected as she thought she saw the mystery man leave empty-handed.
