A man accused of mowing down and killing Murupara teenager Jordan Herewini is to stand trial for his murder.
Quentin Pukeroa, 32, has conceded there is a case to answer. He pleaded not guilty to charges including murder, attempted murder and assault with a tomahawk, axe and metal bar.
He and 11
other Mongrel Mob members had a depositions hearing in the Rotorua District Court during the past week-and-a-half before Justices of the Peace Barry Gaylard and Ron Hope.
The 12 were charged following an alleged gang fight in Murupara on the day Jordan Herewini was killed, January 27.
Tosh Marley Te Tomo, 18, pleaded guilty to charges including entering a building to commit a crime using a tomahawk, axe and metal bar as weapons and participating in an organised criminal group to commit aggravated burglary. He will be sentenced in the High Court on September 17.
Richard Conrad Faataape, 34, has pleaded guilty to charges including injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, participating in an organised criminal group to commit aggravated burglary and two counts of entering a building to commit a crime with a tomahawk, axe and metal bar as weapons. He will be sentenced on August 25 in the Rotorua District Court.
William Tepaire Aramoana, 25, Kingi Morgan Gemmell, 40, Terry John Faataape, 40, Lewis Salmon, 37, Lynette Victoria Wikitoria Teddy, 38, Clayton Fox, 34, and Massey Ngaheu, 37, have all pleaded not guilty to charges including injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, participating in an organised criminal group to commit aggravated burglary and two counts of entering a building to commit a crime with a tomahawk, axe and metal bar as weapons.
Neville Duff, 30, has pleaded not guilty to participating in an organised criminal group to commit aggravated burglary.
Jason Kirk Iopata, 37, has pleaded not guilty to participating in a criminal group to commit aggravated burglary and two counts of being a party to aggravated burglary by suppressing evidence by storing a vehicle with weapons in it to avoid arrest.
All those who have pleaded not guilty, including Pukeroa, are to reappear for a callover in the High Court on September 10.
All are on bail except for Pukeroa, Fox, Gemmell and Terry Faataape, who have been remanded in custody.
