Mana Party leader Hone Harawira will be visiting the Bay of Plenty this weekend to officially announce it will stand candidates in five general seats in the Bay of Plenty/East Coast region.
These candidates are in East Coast, Bay of Plenty, Tauranga, Rotorua and Taupo.
The announcement will be made
at the Tauranga Historic Village today at 6pm. He will also be visiting Turangi and Murupara over the weekend and will be accompanied by Keriana Reedy, the Mana candidate for the Taupo seat. Mrs Reedy said Murupara had formed a Mana party branch with about 40 members. She was excited about the support, especially the number of rangatahi that were becoming involved.
"They're really getting quite political," she said.
Mr Harawira will also be visiting Te Puke and Maraenui Marae in Omaio tomorrow.
