Biggest kiwi encounter

Rotorua's Kiwi Encounter hatchery has hatched its biggest kiwi chick so far.
Big Norm - Norm being short for enormous - weighs in at 424.2g and apparently has a big voice to match its size.
Big Norm is from the Maungataniwha sanctuary and is currently in the Kiwi Encounter brooder room.
It is the largest of any chick hatched at Kiwi Encounter - by 0.2g.
Big Norm's egg weighed 509g when it arrived on September 30, heavier than the average 400g.
Big Norm's egg was incubated for 13 days before it hatched - and it was "very vocal at hatch and while he was being handled, and is apparently still very vocal," husbandry manager Clair Travers said.
An even heavier egg from Taranaki weighing 511g is due to hatch in the next couple of days.
