Most of us fear public speaking but Rotorua's Isaac Brunton simply relishes stepping up in front of a crowd.
The John Paul College Year 13 student will represent Rotorua at the Lions Clubs Young Speechmaker Contest national final in Auckland on August 18.
The 17-year-old has qualified for the national final after impressing judges at a regional final in Te Puke and a central North Island final in Cambridge.
The national competition started with 121 students which have now been whittled down to the top 16.
Isaac said he had entered the competition when one of his teachers, who is from the Ngongotaha Lions Club, asked some of the students to participate.
