Police have grave concerns about what has happened to a 52-year-old Rotorua man who has been missing for more than a week.
Detective Sergeant John Wilson of the Rotorua police said Kere Grey went missing last week and police wanted to hear from any members of the public who may have seen him.
Mr Grey was last seen leaving his Western Heights home on Tuesday, March 15, and was reported missing that day, Mr Wilson said.
The missing man had left the house on foot early in the morning.
"When he left home he was wearing a high-visibility vest and a pair of brown trousers," Mr Wilson said.
"Police and family members hold grave fears for Mr Grey's wellbeing."
Police believed Mr Grey had no access to money or support, Mr Wilson said.
"We are urging people to come forward if they have seen him because we have exhausted all other possibilities."
Mr Grey is a Maori, 170cm tall and of solid build.
He has black hair and a moustache.
"Police believe the key to locating Mr Grey lies with the public," Mr Wilson said.
Anyone with information about Mr Grey's whereabouts is urged to contact the Rotorua police, phone (07) 348 0099, 0800 TIPOFF or 111 if it is an emergency.
