Power bill rebate on way to Bay

There will be some extra cash in the back pockets of those who pay the power bill as the Hawke's Bay Power Consumers Trust distributes its profits to the region.
Trust chairman John Newland said it would send out the rebate in November and it would be of similar value to those made in recent years.
Last year power consumers received a payment of $100 tax paid.
Powerlines company Unison Networks had achieved another successful year which prompted the dividend paid to the trust.
Most of the $6.2 million dividend would be passed on to Hawke's Bay consumers, although Unison's network extended to Taupo and Bay of Plenty.
The trust holds the company's shares on behalf of Hawke's Bay consumers.
Mr Newland said the trust had subsidised heating insulation systems in about 400 homes in Hawke's Bay.
The trust also helped subsidise electric blanket checks.
