Hawkes's Bay hospitality awards to celebrate milestone

The hunt is on for diamonds of Hawke's Bay's hospitality industry ahead of the region's annual hospitality awards.

Nominations opened on Tuesday for the Hawke's Bay Hospitality Awards which is celebrating its 10th year.

Presented by the Restaurant Association of New Zealand (RA) for the second year, the awards' ceremony will be held on August 14.

RA chief executive Marisa Bidois said she was very excited to be able to bring the awards to Hawke's Bay again.

"The benefits of a peer recognition awards platform that values dedication and excellence not only draws our industry closer but also raises aspirations and performance in the region," she said.

"It is the chance to showcase those who have made an impact on the local hospitality scene.

"These awards are all about honouring the stars in hospitality by promoting excellence in the industry."

They also enhance local and visitor experience by highlighting the best the region has to offer, Ms Bidois said.

Nominations for the awards opened on Tuesday and finalists will be announced on July 10 with the second round of voting beginning on July 11.

People in the hospitality community in Hawke's Bay can nominate the best in 13 different categories.

The awards, which were originally to be held on August 7, will take place at MTG Century Theatre on August 14.

The Hawke's Bay Hospitality Awards was established to recognise excellence in all areas of hospitality in the region.

RA represents restaurants, cafés and the wider hospitality community throughout New Zealand.
