Tararua District councillor Ernie Christison wants to find somewhere for young people to do burnouts in their cars.
"They're tearing up all our corners," Mr Christison, who holds the council's youth portfolio, said. "I want to try and find a place where they can tear up their cars."
Mr Christison said he was searching for an appropriate and safe area for burnouts and indicated he was looking to a farmer for some land.
However, Tararua District Mayor Tracey Collis warned Mr Christison such a plan would need to comply with stringent health and safety requirements.
