The annual Tamaki Nui A Rua kapa haka festival in Dannevirke was all about whanau making memories together.
"Today is memory day and your school is more important than any election," MC Greg Motu said.
Hundreds packed the Dannevirke town for the festival which began 12 years ago, driven by Tami Nicholson.
"We love providing kapa haka in our community," Mr Motu said.
