Clearview Estate has been the picturesque setting for a television advertisement in a series showcasing New Zealand's regional produce and events.
Winery manager Claire Cameron said Clearview's harvest and the feast that followed was filmed over two days in April. The many staff involved were enjoying seeing the ad run on television and in magazines.
Robbie Magasiva, fronting the series for the Pam's food adventure series, also helped harvest the grapes and then assisted Clearview chef John Cornforth prepare a feast for Clearview's regular team of grape pickers.
Dubbed the "golden girls", most are 60-plus and "full of far too much energy", laughs Claire.
John's brief was to provide recipes using Pam's food range, but also to include quality Hawke's Bay produce.
For the harvest celebration, he prepared cornfed chicken with olives and sun-dried tomatoes and a summer Mediterranean tartlet.
Clearview co-owners Tim Turvey and Helma van den Berg said the advert helped showcase nationally the food and wine aspect of Hawke's Bay.
