It's so disappointing to see the mega millions of dollars worth of damage (following ex-tropical Cyclone Hale) — not only from all of the rain, but also with the forestry slash littered all over the place.
I reckon no resource consents should be granted unless there are performance bonds and
clear clean-up clauses about who is responsible.
If you're cutting timber, you should clean the slash up after you. Your failure costs the public money.
Maybe even think about having supervised open days for the public to cut firewood because people pay ridiculous amounts for that in order to keep warm.
