Our members will freely share their knowledge of the sport of surfcasting and maybe some of us will take you to our favourite fishing spots.
The Western Bay of Plenty Surfcasting Club held a successful Club Fish at the weekend with several members catching a meal.
The club has a
new committee which is focused on providing several ideas to make the club fun and exciting for members.
Members meet regularly for fishing events and these, combined with tuition in casting and the setting up of their rods, reels and tackle and the types of bait to use will ensure that new members joining the club will soon have the skills to enable them to confidently have a go at catching fish.
The grounding of the Rena along with a poor summer weatherwise have not been conducive to surfcasting but the club has put all that behind it and is moving forward to a brighter future.
