Castlecliff bowler Diane Stewart won her first Wanganui centre title on Sunday when she teamed up with clubmate Anne Loveridge to take out the Ryman Healthcare open pairs.

The two-day competition culminated with post-section play at the Wanganui club where the Castlecliff duo beat Cynthia Adams and Dot Belliss on their home turf 17-12 in the final.

They had earlier beaten Vivien Bishop and Ngaire Farrell 20-12 in the semifinal, while Adams and Belliss put out Aramoho pairing Loralie Hawkes and Margaret Wakelin 15-14.

The men's final will be played at the Nelson St venue next Sunday morning and will be an all home club affair with Clint and Ray Park taking on their fours team-mates Michael Watty and Ray Savage.

In Sunday's semis, the Parks beat Aramoho's Phil Corney and Selwyn Prescott 16-13, while Watty and Savage overcame Durie Hill's Ken Bates and Colin Luttrell 19-13.
