This evening's TAB Quaddie at Wanganui's Hatrick Raceway presents a fair challenge to strike, therefore a percentage attack could be the way to go.

The first leg (race 5, 6.13pm) sees Upahut Crystal and Melody's Muse holding the key, with both owning sound racing records from the adjacent traps they will depart from here. Outside of this pair, it basically looks like a field job.

The last couple of races that Mick Mania contested certainly don't suggest anything very inspiring, however one of those was in a top class field. His win on this track three races ago held considerable merit and he can make his presence felt in the second leg.

Homebush Mell appears back to the form she had earlier in her career, which included some fairly smart times here. Her bold effort at Wanganui last Friday suggests that she is poised to nail another win at short notice.

The third leg requires quite a spread in what is a very competitive-looking intermediate grade sprint.

Thunda Thighs has been mixing her recent race distances but she can lead this field throughout by making a quick beginning.

Sedgebrook Elite is dropping back in class for this dash, so he's needed, while others with sound claims here include Homebush Lenny, Tricky Paula and Queen Mother.

The concluding Quaddie leg has two sprinters who return after missing out in their Galaxy sprint heats in Christchurch last Friday.

Mirage and Ima Spice will find this sprint a tad easier than their southern assignment, especially from their handy draws here.

Of the rest, perhaps Stately Babe and Aerial Baxter could feature.

The record-setting pace with which greyhound trainer John McInerney has been churning out the winners this season broke through another barrier on Wednesday when he trained his 200th winner for the season at the Hatrick Raceway.

Botany Matthew who, ironically, was contesting his 100th career race, brought up the double century milestone for McInerney.

A further three winners - giving him seven training successes on the day - saw McInerney conclude Wednesday's racing with his tally standing at 203 winners.

He set a national record of 612 training victories last season - a total that, at his current pace, will be exceeded this season.
