It was a weekend bootcamp at Cullinane College for 120 models, dancers, singers, musicians, hairdressers, makeup artists and backstage crew drawn by a shared love of creativity and entertainment.

They are preparing for the 2013 Underground Fashion event which has a Once upon a Time theme. The bootcamp brought all the different groups together for the first time. It also gave the hairdressers and makeup artists an opportunity to work with the models.

Wanganui youth aged 12-24 had previously auditioned for the August 9 and 10 shows, with 120 being selected.

Hitting the catwalk will be fashion designs from Wanganui, Palmerston North, New Plymouth and Otaki.

Judging the designs on the two nights will be Mindzye Fashions designer Sara Fredrickson, Wanganui Ucol School of Fashion lecturer Sue Walker, Fifty Five Fashion Boutique's Tracy Hawker, Bristol Plants and Sustainable Whanganui representative Joy Bristol, and fibre artist and fashion designer Daniella Sasvari.
