Whanganui's Helen Codlin is the proud owner of a zippy new car - and it came as a complete surprise.
Mrs Codlin was the Whanganui winner of a New World supermarket promotion. A Holden Spark was up for grabs in every New World supermarket and shoppers who spent more than
$50 automatically went into the draw to win a car.
"I'm thrilled - I couldn't believe it when John [Kelly, co-owner of Whanganui's New World] rang me," Mrs Codlin said.
"I've never won anything. I can't even win anything off Lotto. It's the first time I've had a brand new car."
Mrs Codlin was presented with the car by Ken Williams, owner of local Holden dealership Ignition Motor Group, and New World owners John Kelly and Victoria Deaker.
