Mother in desperate plea over lost son

The mother of missing Wanganui man Brett Hall says the misery of not finding her son gets worse every year.

Lee Hall has asked for public help to find her son three years after he disappeared from his farm. Mr Hall was last seen on his Pitangi property, between Parikino and Atene on the Whanganui River, on the weekend of May 27, 2011. Police believe he has been killed.

Through the police, Mrs Hall who lives in Palmerston North, said it had been three years since she had seen her son and "it is getting worse every year".

"I wish to God they would just give me Brett back. All we want is some closure and someone to tell us where he is. This is not much to ask for."

Following Mr Hall's disappearance an extensive search involving over 80 NZ Army and Police staff and Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel scoured his property and the surrounding bush without finding him.

Police also conducted an extensive homicide investigation with over 30 detectives from the Lower North Island on the case.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Kirby, officer in charge of the investigation, said more than 100 people were spoken to during the early part of the probe which centred on Brett's friends and associates.

"Brett has not been located and police believe he has been murdered and his body dumped or buried somewhere.

"Somebody knows where his body is and one call to Crimestoppers is all that is needed to help us bring some much-needed closure to Mr Hall's family," Mr Kirby said.
