The sun shone brightly for a community picnic at Pakaitore (Moutoa Gardens) on Christmas Day.
Christmas Together Whanganui was organised by the Women's Angel Awhi group which supports mothers who have lost babies through miscarriage or stillbirth.
Almost 100 pre-made meals of salad, pasta, buns, hams and puddings donated by
individuals and businesses were dished out by volunteers.
The community Christmas picnic was free and open to anyone, with games and entertainment also on offer.
Organiser Teresa Garwood said it was about making sure no one was left alone on Christmas Day.
