Brochure highlights popular attraction

Terry Coxon thought Wanganui's Virginia Lake needed a brochure to list its charms. There wasn't one, so, with a bit of help and in a "slow adventure", he made one himself. Mr Coxon and his wife moved back to Wanganui from Hawke's Bay about 18 months ago, and he walks the lake a lot. Wanganui Midweek columnist Mike Street said it should have a brochure, and he agreed.

The brochure became a project of the Wanganui North Rotary Club, with information from historian Wendy Pettigrew, funding from the Virginia Lake Trust, photographs from Lynette Vallely and a discount from the printers, H&A Print. On Friday Mr Coxon presented 11,000 copies to Wanganui Mayor Annette Main, who said it was great to have such partnerships in the community. There will be copies of the brochure at Wanganui's i-SITE, and at the lake itself.
