Three people have been injured in a crash in Rotorua yesterday.

Three people have been injured in a crash in Rotorua yesterday.

A one-car crash south of Rotorua has left a woman and two children in hospital.

A Police North Communications spokesman said police, fire, and ambulance were called to the scene of the crash about 5.20pm yesterday.

He said three occupants were injured, one with critical injuries and two with moderate to serious injuries.

A Greenlea Rescue Helicopter spokesman said it flew a 23-year-old woman to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries. The Bay Trust Rescue Helicopter transported two children to Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries, he said.

All the injured were from Ohakune.

The helicopter spokesman said the car had run off the road, overturned and ended up in a paddock.

The spokesman said the Serious Crash Unit was investigating the cause of the crash.

A witness said the crash happened between Ohaaki and Tutukau Rds.
