Waikato were overall winners but Bay of Plenty took the under-19 spoils at the Northern Region junior golf quadrangular in Rotorua.

The Bay under-19 team (William Howard, Ben Shanly, Cameron Neal and David Feeney) halved with Northland in their opening match at Arikikapakapa but downed Waikato 3-1 in their afternoon clash and Auckland 3-1 at the weekend to emerge as clear under-19 winners on five match points and eight individual games. Auckland were second on three points and seven matches, Waikato third on countback with six matches and Northland on one.

The Bay of Plenty under-16 team (Jin Hwang, Bailey Smith, Harry Middleton and Charlie Hillier) were second behind Waikato, who were nearly perfect over the two games with three wins and 11 matches.

Bay of Plenty halved with Northland, lost 4-0 to Waikato but rebounded on Sunday to beat Northland 3-1.

Under-16: Bay of Plenty 2 Northland 2: Harry Middleton b Taylor Gill 4 and 3, Charlie Hillier lost to Braden Keown 2 and 1, Bailey Smith b Ethan O'Shea 5 and 4, Kadin Neho b Jin Hwang 2 and 1, Waikato 4 Auckland 0.

Bay of Plenty 0 Waikato 4: Middleton lost to Regan Kidd 2 and 1, Hillier lost to Matt Morris 1 down, Smith lost to Denzel Ieremia 3 and 2, Hwang lost to Nick Coxon 2 and 1, Northland 2 Auckland 2.

Bay of Plenty 3 Auckland 1: Middleton b Dalton Tusi Valasi 2 and 1, Hillier lost to Mitchell McLean 4 and 2, Smith b Liam Collis 2 and 21, Hwang b Matt Tiplady 3 and 2.

Points: Waikato 6 (11 1/5 matches), Bay of Plenty 3 (5 matches), Northland 2 (4 1/2 matches), Auckland 1 (3 matches).

Under-19: Bay of Plenty 2 Northland 2: David Feeney halved with Thomas Neylon, Cameron Neal lost to Luke Brown 7 and 6, Ben Shanly halved with Chase McKeown, William Howard b Sean Masters 5 and 4, Waikato 2 Auckland 2.

Bay of Plenty 3 Waikato 1: Feeney b Luke Phillips 5 and 4, Neal b Steve Kuggeleijn 1 up, Shanly b Troy Scott 3 and 2, Howard lost to Compton Pikari 4 and 2, Northland 0 Auckland 4.

Bay of Plenty 3 Auckland 1: Feeney b Shiv Sabherwal 6 and 5, Neal b Tae Koh 1 up, Shanly lost to Nick Voke 3 and 2, Howard b Jonathon Ratcliffe 3 and 2, Waikato 3 Northland 1.

Points: Bay of Plenty 5 (8 matches), Auckland 3 (7 matches), Waikato 3 (6 matches), Northland 1 (3 matches).

Overall combined winner: Waikato.
