Section manager Kymberley Paige said they started moving in last week and the salon was ready to go.
"We started looking at doing this at the beginning of the year.
"Another beauty facility called Images, who trained their own students, closed down in town and we wanted to provide something for those students."
Mrs Paige said they moved a few doors up from their old hairdressing facility, Hairspray, to the new and improved building which included extra space for body and spa facilities.
"So this is the first year we have been able to offer a beauty diploma."
She said the salon offered massages, facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures, spray tanning, eye lash extensions and perming, makeup and of course hairdressing.
The facility includes three separate rooms, one for hairdressing and makeup and two for massage and body.
Mrs Paige said the beauty and hairdressing courses ranged from one to two years and were endorsed by the United Kingdom's well-known vocational education organisation City and Guilds.
"The courses are delivered under City and Guilds which means they will be recognised in 100 countries worldwide."
She said it was quite common for students with the beauty qualification to gain jobs on big cruises, with some students being looked at for that pathway in November.
Waiariki School of Trade Training director Kevin Uncles said there was enough room at the facility for 40 students to be working at once.
"What we're trying to do is create a realistic working environment for these students."
The beauty salon is open from 9am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday with a late night on Thursdays to 7pm. Bookings are by appointment only, please visit the shop or call (07) 347 6376.
An official grand opening is expected to be held by the end of the month.
