Taupo police are looking for the driver of a ute who crashed into a parked car and shunted it onto a neighbouring property.
The crash happened around 4.40am on Sunday in Richmond Heights, near to the intersection with Hyde Ave.
The ute - a double cab with a dog box
on the back and possibly silver in colour, lost control and crashed into a residential garage. It hit the garage with enough force that it smashed the owner's car out through the back wall into the neighbour's property, damaging another vehicle parked on the other side of the fence.
Taupo police said the driver of the ute then reversed and drove off towards the town centre.
The vehicle has left behind broken parts, so has obviously sustained significant front end damage.
