Neville Harper is bringing his vintage pride and joy to Paradise Valley Raceway for people to look at this weekend.
The 31st Rotorua Vintage and Veteran Car Club Swap Meet and Car Show is on this Sunday and organiser Mr Harper is expecting 100 to 200 vintage or classic cars to be on show, as well as his American 1961 Studebaker Hawk.
Mr Harper has been interested in cars since he can remember.
"I've always been an old car person-nutter."
He said there would be all sorts of cars at the car show.
"A huge range of cars from vintage cars to classic cars and hot rods."
He said cars would probably be from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and more recent years and originate from countries such as the United States, England, Australia and France.
Mr Harper said people could come along for a look or book a place for their stall, or bring their car or stall along on the day.
"People bring along all sorts of goodies and memorabilia," he said.
The car show will be on the raceway with the swap meet and stalls in the pit.
He said stalls would be selling car parts, antiques and more and some cars would also be for sale.
People brought their cars and stalls to the raceway to set up for the event early in the morning.
"Anyone can come with anything they like."
Food stalls and coffee will be available for the visitors, who come from around the country for the event.
At last year's event, Mr Harper estimated there were about 100 cars and about 8000 to 10,000 people.
He is hoping for similar numbers this year and says the event has been popular with families in the past.
The 31st Central North Island Swap Meet and Car Show is on Sunday, July 10, from 7am to 3pm at Paradise Valley Raceway. Admission for car exhibitors is $10, general admission is $5 and accompanied children are free. To book a site contact Neville Harper on 07 348 2412 or bopmotors@callplus.net.nz.
