People visiting the Rotorua Daily Post Home & Leisure Show this weekend will have the chance to catch up with the leaders of the city's NZME media business.
More than 200 stands showcasing everything from heat pumps to holiday packages will be on display at the show, which takes placeFriday through Sunday at Rotorua's Energy Events Centre.
Among the exhibiting businesses will be an NZME stand hosted by members of the Rotorua Daily Post team. On-hand at different times will be Rotorua Daily Post editor Scott Inglis, deputy editor Katie Holland, general manager David Mackenzie; Rotorua Weekender editor Erin Majurey, and Mangai Nui co-editors Kereama Wright and Marisa Balle.
"The Home Show is a great opportunity to get some face-to-face feedback from our readers about what really matters to them," said Mr Inglis, who recently re-joined the Rotorua Daily Post media organisation after a previous stint as editor.
"The best local newspapers and news websites champion their community and the people that live there, so I'm always interested to hear what the readers have to say."
It was a view Mr Mackenzie shared. "The paper and website play a core role in the heart of this community, so the Home Show is a perfect chance to talk to readers and advertisers, hear their views, and answer any questions they might have." As well as the chance to meet the media leaders, those visiting the stand on Friday morning will be able to watch (and listen) as Paul Hickey broadcasts live on Rotorua radio station The Hits.
NZME News Bay of Plenty and Waikato marketing manager Samantha Wilkie said it was important to show the media company was "at the heart of local life". "Our Rotorua news and entertainment brands represent and champion the local community."
