Anna Wilson is a strong and assured young woman who has the world at her fingertips.

The Rotorua Girls' High School Year 12 student is this week's rising star for her dedication to the arts.

Her interests include fashion, design and dance.

She has performed in the AmJazz Dance Concert since 2009 and holds the role of dance captain in the upcoming Rotorua Boys' High and Girls' High musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

Anna also participated in this year's Stage Challenge and Wearable Creationz 2012 dance performances. In the field of design her teachers have defined her drawing skills as exceptional.

They say her work is risky, enthusiastic and beautiful.

Anna's childhood dreams of designing clothes, inspired by films such as Barbie and The Nutcracker, have matured into masterful creations.

She designed the costumes for this year's Stage Challenge and entered a design into Rotorua Wearable Creationz with four friends, placing second in the youth category.

She has also designed a ballgown which has reached the finals of a national competition.

When she finishes high school, Anna wants to study in Australia to become a costumier for stage and theatre productions.

Anna is a member of the inaugural RGHS Honour Society after a great academic year in NCEA Level 1.
