"Through this new all-encompassing event Rotorua's hard-working voluntary groups, dedicated individual volunteers and selfless students will be celebrated through one very inspiring evening.
"Volunteers are a formidable force of good in the Rotorua community and every day members benefit from their hard work.
"From the teams that work behind the scenes at community events to the supportive coaches on the sidelines to the tireless fundraising teams; volunteers are in every corner of this region but often they are not recognised for the invaluable work they do."
The Rotorua District Civic Awards are also being presented at these awards and recognise individuals who have given at least 15 years of dedicated voluntary service to one or more community sectors.
Entries for both awards close on Friday, May 2 at 5pm.
