Police investigating the aggravated robbery of The Bay Bar and Brasserie in Taupo earlier this month want to remind the community they can pass on information anonymously.
Money and alcohol was stolen by at least three men who robbed the venue near the entrance to Acacia Bay on Friday, May2, around 11.10pm. Each man had a weapon and demanded money from staff inside but no one was injured.
"We believe there is information within the community that will help us to arrest these offenders and provide some reassurance back to our community," said Detective Sergeant Kirsten Price.
"We appreciate that sometimes people are in situations where they do not feel able to come forward and talk to us directly, so it is important to remember that Crimestoppers offers an alternative option which guarantees anonymity."
Anyone who knows who is responsible for this offence, knows of someone who is suddenly and unexpectedly in possession of larger than normal amounts cash and/or alcohol or who has any other information that might assist this investigation should call Taupo police on (07) 378 6060.
