Taking a Cityride bus in Rotorua has been made easier thanks to a new online feature.
Journey Planner is an online search feature that lets users search for bus routes directly on Google Maps using Google Transit. It is available to use on the Cityride website, www.baybus.co.nz.
The Journey Planner
will work out the best route from where you are to where you want to go and when you want to be there.
It also allows the user to compare different bus routes with directions which will include the bus numbers, bus stop information, travel time, and the cost for each option. If there are any parts of the journey that will require people to walk it will include the walking directions, distance and an estimated walking time.
"We expect the Rotorua Google Transit journey planner will be as well used as the Tauranga version and make Rotorua's public transport system more user friendly," Bay of Plenty Regional Council Public Transport Sub-Committee chairman Lyall Thurston said.
