He's played with some of the world's biggest names in the business and he's coming to Rotorua in January.
Paul Ubana Jones has embarked on another nationwide tour for summer and will be playing at the Belgian Bar on Arawa St on January 10.
Born in London to a Yorkshiremother and a Nigerian father, Ubana Jones was playing guitar by the age of 11, beginning a three-decade career that would see him crossing continents and recording eight albums.
In the late 70s Ubana Jones based himself in Provence, southern France, and toured all over Europe and North Africa, as well as venturing extensively into Canada and the United States.
In the late 80s he and his family moved to New Zealand, which is still their permanent home. He has continued to perform internationally, to growing acclaim. He has shared the bill with Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Norah Jones, Patti Smith, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Tuck and Patti and Crowded House.
