Paradise Valley Rd to re-open but new slips reported

Paradise Valley Rd is expected to re-open today as the clean up continues from the weekend's rain.

Three crews from Fulton Hogan continue to clear the debris from the road with workers expected to have the road open later today.

This will allow them to start work at the northern of the road.

Rotorua Lakes Council said new slips had been reported in the region.

They are on Penny Rd, Waikite Valley Rd, and Puaiti Rd.

Okere Rd, Hossack Rd, Rehi Rd, Brett Rd, Okawa Bay Rd, Oturoa Rd, Mangatete Rd, and Poutakataka Rd are open to one lane but still require some debris to be removed.

The priority was to ensure all roads were open to a minimum of one lane, then clean up crews will be making their way across the district clearing debris and inspecting roads, the council said in a statement.
