Rotorua netball fans who fear the city may miss out on Magic action have been told not to worry, yet.
In a newsletter sent out by Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, the franchise announced two new homes for the coming season - Claudelands Arena in Hamilton and the TECT Arena atBay Park.
There was no mention of any games at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre, but Magic chief executive Sheryl Dawson said that didn't mean the city would miss out.
"In the past we have used the QEII Youth Centre in Tauranga and Mystery Creek at Hamilton. These are two new homes to add to the Rotorua Energy Events Centre. We also played in Taupo last year."
She said she could not yet confirm how many games Rotorua would host as they were still waiting for the ANZ Championship draw, due out early this month.
Last year, Rotorua hosted two home games plus the "away" game against Canterbury Tactix, which was moved due to earthquake damage.
There were two in Hamilton, one in Tauranga and one in Taupo.
Earlier this year Magic issued an ultimatum to Rotorua Magic fans - attend the next game in the city or you won't be hosting any more. That led to a spike in ticket sales but the 3000-seat venue was not sold out.
The match against the Southern Steel was to a 46 per cent capacity crowd, while the home match against the Tactix had just a 37 per cent capacity crowd.
In the 2010 season Rotorua hosted four Magic games but only one attracted a full house. Two games were less than half full and one was at 73 per capacity.
The franchise needs about 80 per cent capacity in Rotorua to break even.
